There is only one effective way to get children actively involved with speech and motor Apraxia, and this is by engaging them in fun speech therapy activities. However, before you even begin to help your child with language articulation activities, you have to be in the right frame of mind.

It would be counter-productive if you are stressed, impatient, and thinking of other things at the same time. Thus, for the language activities to work out well between you and your child learn to set aside a specific time that’s just for this purpose. Make it a date between you and your child and treat the time as special bonding hour that will create beautiful memories for you and your child.

Here are some fun language therapy activities that you can start under the supervision of a qualified therapist, and then branch out on your own at home. Remember what the purpose for the language activities are, focus on that, and not just having fun. Also do not be a stickler for how long your child should be doing the activity, otherwise it becomes a chore instead, and he will not be motivated to do it again.

    Speech Therapy Activities Part 1

Using PECS or Picture Exchange Communications System uses pictures as an alternative way of communicating with your child. Naturally, you will need some practice with this because for a child, a picture of a sandwich could mean he’s hungry but not necessarily for a sandwich.

You can go around the house tagging items with a picture and the word spelled out. Eventually, from practice, your child will recognize the word and not just the picture. By then you can take away the pictures and just have word tags.

    Speech Therapy Activities Part 2

Use of music to teach pacing and pauses between words. The music therapy is a great way to introduce sounds and how they can be used. It works in conjunction with language therapy activities in many instances because of its universal appeal. There are special CDs for young children with Apraxia that you can buy as part of your language therapy activities at home.

With singing, children with Apraxia can enjoy speech therapy activities by learning how to elongate their vowels.

    Speech Therapy Activities Part 3

Why not play Go Fish or the Memory Game using cards as your game tools. Cards are very good as part of your speech therapy activities as well as in helping develop dexterity and hand-eye coordination. These are just 3 language therapy activities that you can do without special tools. It will not work though if you do it a couple of times a month.

There has to be some form of schedule, 5 to 10 minutes a day, to make it work.

The pulp is the hollow inner core of the tooth that contains nerves, blood vessels, connective tissue and reparative cells (see Figure 1). In children, dental caries (cavities) and traumatic injury are the two main indications for pulpal therapy (also known as -paediatric root canal,- -pulpotomy- or -pulpectomy-). The primary objective of pulpal therapy is to maintain the integrity and health of the teeth and supporting tissues; thus, its treatment objective is to maintain the vitality of the pulp of a tooth affected by caries or traumatic injury.

In young permanent teeth with immature roots, the pulp is important for the continuation of apexogenesis (the continuation of the closure of the tip of the root, or apex, as the child gets older). Long-term retention of a permanent tooth requires a root with a favourable crown/root ratio and dentinal walls that are thick enough to withstand normal function. Therefore, pulp preservation is the primary goal for the treatment of young permanent dentition. A tooth without a vital pulp, however, can still remain clinically functional.

The vitality of the pulp is the most important focus of a dental examination and check-up because it is the basis of the indications, objectives and type of pulpal therapy that will be used. The pulp may be classified as normal (i.e., symptom free and with normal response to vitality testing), with reversible pulpitis (i.e., the pulp is capable of healing), with symptomatic or asymptomatic irreversible pulpitis (i.e., vital inflamed pulp is incapable of healing), or necrotic pulp.

    The clinical diagnosis is derived from a comprehensive review of the medical and dental history, including current symptoms and chief complaint; subjective evaluation of the area associated with the current symptoms/chief complaint, which is accomplished by questioning the child and parent(s) on the location, intensity, duration, stimulus, relief and spontaneity of pain;

objective extraoral examination and intraoral soft and hard tissue examination; radiograph(s) to diagnose pulpitis or necrosis showing the involved tooth, furcation, periapical area and the surrounding bone; and clinical tests such as palpation, percussion and mobility.

A treatment plan should include the following:

    1. The patient’s medical history

    2. The value of each involved tooth in relation to the child’s overall development

    3. Alternatives to pulp treatment

    4. Restorability of the tooth.

Commonly asked questions by people learning about Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) are –

    What is guided discovery?
Is it about the therapist directing the client?
Is Socratic dialogue the same thing as guided discovery?
How do I offer guided discovery?

One thing for sure, is that the concept often feels overwhelming when we first try this type of approach.

My view point is that, guided discovery, can be one of the most beneficial interventions used within CBT. In a nut-shell, guided discovery is a process that a therapist uses to help his or her client reflect on the way that they process information. Through the processes of answering questions or reflecting on thinking processes, a range of alternative thinking is opened up for each client. This alternative thinking forms the blueprint for changing perceptions and behaviours.

Essentially, it could be suggested that a client approaching a CBT therapist is initially functioning at a mindless level. This is not to say that a client is ignorant or not able to think. Rather, that the client has a range of automatic cognitive processes that are being allowed to run without intervention. Some of these thinking processes may have been developed in childhood, while others may directly result from an immediate mood state.

A useful analogy for guided discovery is to think about going to an opticians for an eye test. The optician may initially put a contraption on their clients head with a range of lenses on it. Initially, their clients cannot see through this contraption very well (i.e., what they perceive is a blur). The optician then sets about gradually removing or replacing lenses, and after a while, through a process of trial and error (and feedback from the client) each individual begins to see more clearly.

Guided discovery works in exactly the same way as the above example. Except, instead of using optical lenses, the CBT therapist helps the client use lenses of perception. Perceiving information is a different way allows each client to access a range of choices in their life, ostensibly, to see their life through different lenses. When we view life in a different way our emotional reaction to events also shifts. These types of continued conscious re-evaluations in CBT are very important because they lay the foundations of future automatic thinking and make relapse less likely.

Red light therapy has gained quite a lot of popularity as an effective non-invasive anti-aging skin rejuvenation therapy. Free from all the side effects of other anti-aging and anti-wrinkle treatment procedures like chemical peels, microdermabrasion, lasers and plastic surgery, red light anti-aging and skin rejuvenation therapy uses red light to stimulate the skins natural healing process thereby reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Here in this article we will take a look at some of the major benefits of red light anti-aging therapy over other forms of anti-aging therapies.

Advantages of Red Light Therapy Over Other Anti-Aging Treatment

Here are some of the major benefits of red light skin rejuvenation therapy over other types of anti-aging treatments –

Cutting edge technology – Red light therapy was originally developed by NASA to stimulate growth of plants around 40 years ago when it was discovered that red light also promoted healing of injuries. This is the technology used in red light treatment. Red light lamps are used to emit UV free red light which stimulates the cell repair process resulting in firmer and younger looking skin.

Treats multiple problems – This therapy treats multiple issues right from reducing wrinkles and fine lines, scars, stretch marks to making the skin more firm and young. Besides these anti-aging benefits, red light therapy is also used in the treatment of acne, sprains, bone injuries and healing wounds.

It treats the core problem, not just the symptom – Red light therapy works at the cellular level to reduce appearance of wrinkles and firm up the skin tissue. Red light between the wavelengths of 620 to 700nm when absorbed by the skin stimulates it to increase production of elastin and collagen. This leads to the reversal of the aging process. It also promotes oxygenation and hydration of the skin which help to restore elasticity.

No negative consequences – Unlike other invasive anti-aging and skin rejuvenation treatments, red light therapy is free from side effects. This therapy is completely painless and does not involve any surgery, thermal damage, discomfort, discoloration, scarring or down time.

Getting into medical school is exceedingly challenging. Well over forty thousand prospective applicants enter into the application cycle each year with less than fifty percent obtaining admission. Success calls for a lot more than scholastic and extracurricular expertise and experience. It takes finding out the actual requirements of the various admissions committees, having good recommendations, and authoring impressive essays which get their attention.

Although the specific application system doesn’t open up until June of the calendar year before matriculation, the actual medical school admissions process actually starts the very day you enter college or university. It does not matter if you are applying during your junior year of college or even a few years subsequent to graduating, the committees will start by evaluating your scholastic and extracurricular experience starting as far back as freshman year! Normally, high school situations don’t seem to be applicable except when there are extraordinary circumstances. This is particularly the case if you can show experience in the medical field during your high school years. If this is the case, then you would address it in your personal statement.

You should commence with the main application form the January prior to when you plan your matriculation. Yes, this is in fact 21 months before you actually start medical school! Plan to spend January to April scheduling, planning, and taking the Medical College Admissions Test, securing recommendations, and requesting transcripts from all schools which you have taken courses (you must include all grades for all courses). May and June are all about writing the actual American Medical College Application Service application, which is the primary application. The AMCAS includes a work/activities segment as well as the notorious personal statement. As soon as you’ve completed the AMCAS application form, July to September is devoted to secondary applications (otherwise called secondaries). Secondary applications are a grueling aspect of the admissions process wherein individual schools send their own application asking for between zero to ten supplemental essays on subjects covering anything from diversity towards the greatest error in judgement you’ve ever made (yes, that’s an actual question). Medical school admissions interviews take place from October through January. February is a time of limbo during which not much happens. While various medical school admission’s committees (particularly those which have a rolling admissions), will inform you regarding your acceptance, wait list, or rejection standing prior to the spring, you typically won’t hear something until about March or April. By May fifteenth, every applicant who has been given an acceptance offer from two or more schools will have to decide on specifically where he or she wishes to attend and withdraw applications from all other schools. The admissions process basically ends on the first day of school when you put on that white lab coat and officially become a Doctor.

Who else really wants to remember their past lives? Are you curious about the REAL meaning of your life? Are you a true blue believer that past lives or reincarnation is REAL….and that we all have the power to access these memories with practice? Are you curious if THIS life bears the brunt of traumas, or experiences or even LOVE affairs with soulmates you’ve met in a previous existence? If you said yes, stay tuned while I reveal my FAVORITE way for tapping into the power of past lives from home!

Can I REALLY learn how to remember past lives with practice?

I say YES! As a matter of fact, I truly believe that each and every one of us has the power, and potential to recall many previous incarnations, simply through a combination of practice, intention, mediation and technology. You can also talk to a therapist and have a regression done, which is very effective….but expensive, and often unnecessary if you follow the below approach instead.

What is my FAVORITE way to induce past life recall?

Honestly? The MOST effective technique for me has been using guided meditations, subliminal messaging and hemi sync or binural beats for brain entrainment. (just a scientific way of explaining how to enter an altered state through the use of sound)

Why is this a superior approach to therapy, drugs or hypnosis regression?

First of all…it’s FASTER! You can literally have your first memories within a few short hours using nothing but focused intention, music or sound and all while sitting on your sofa! That makes it easier as well….and in MY opinion, the memories tend to be much more accurate too. Why? Because in my view, you can’t always TRUST the past lives you remember during regression, or during therapy, or even during a psychic reading as they are possibly being affected by suggestion.

Experiences you have by yourself, when your mind is in a totally relaxed, open and hyper aware state…are ALWAYS more powerful, more realistic and more personally transformative to boot! (or at least if YOURS are anywhere as powerful as mine!)

Warning! Don’t get scammed by another “fake” Psychic EVER Again!

Skeptical? Good! Get a Genuine Psychic Reading Here!

Becoming a medical assistant presents the unique opportunity for someone to pursue a career in which they are able to take on meaningful work while simultaneously earning a competitive salary. It is without a doubt that there are a number of benefits in becoming a medical assistant. Take for example that the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics reported jobs for medical assistants will grow by thirty four percent through 2018, meaning those entering the field will have a very high chance of being employed. What are often times left out of the conversation about pursuing the position of medical assistant, however, are the challenges one must face upon gaining employment.

Much like the position of a nurse or doctor, a medical assistant faces an abnormal amount of stress in the workplace. This is due to the work at hand: medical assistants deal with life or death situations such as serious surgeries and potentially harmful operations. Unlike most other professions, when a medical assistant makes a mistake it could cost someones life. Additionally, many medical assistants have noted that doctors tend to be very stern or condescending towards them, often times taking their superior position a bit too far. Experts recommend that those looking to become medical assistants should be able to work competently under stressful situations and have many refer to as thick skin when dealing their superiors.

While the standard job for Americans operates from 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday, medical assistants are often expected to work additional hours, nights, and weekends. Depending on where a medical assistant is employed be it inpatient, outpatient, hospital, medical office, or clinic they may be expected to work around the clock or at odd hours depending on the centers unique needs. Also, because medical assistants are often designated to work with specific patients they might have to work undesirable hours depending on emergencies, complications, or a patients needs. Medical assistants have reported extreme fatigue and exhaustion from working long, odd hours and end up feeling worn down by the end of a work week.

With any job, it is very important to consider every aspect before jumping into the field head first. While the position of medical assistant has a number of perks, it is important to consider the significant amount of stress and fatigue that medical assistants have reported as a result of their job.
